Renegade London Sparkling Blanc De Noir (Limited release)
'Grown in Suffolk, made in London - London Sparkling is a wine for wine lovers and people who appreciate a little excess, extravagance, the finer things in life, rare treats and are happy to throw caution to the wind in the pursuit of an exceptional glass of wine' - Quote taken from Renegade London's English vineyard interview.
The Renegade London sparkling Blanc De Noir is a unique English sparkling wine. Only 800 Bottles have been made in the urban winery - the first vintage English sparkling wine made in London.
The pronounced aromas of citrus and freshly baked bread are superbly balanced. This is followed by an equally vibrant and enthusiastic palate bursting with delicious crisp fresh citrus flavours and a delicate mouthfeel.
This English sparkling wine has been made from two red grape varieties grown in England – Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier - which are perfect for England's cool climate.
The grapes were hand harvested and whole bunch pressed manually using a 100 litre wooden basket press. The resulting grape juice went straight into ex-Burgundy Chardonnay french oak barrels for primary fermentation. The wine was regularly hand stirred to increase contact with the lees and improve complexity.
This English sparkling wine has also had ageing in the crypt of Christ Church Spitalfields in East London.
