Collection: English Bacchus

English Bacchus wine from the English Wine collection

One of the best known grapes in English wine is the Bacchus variety.

It is particularly suited to the English climate and produces some of the best white wines in the world. There has been a sharp increase in the production and planting of Bacchus and it's easy to see why, as it produces flavours to suit most palates, displaying notes of fresh, crisp, green orchard and citrus fruits with a light and zesty finish.

In ancient history, Bacchus, otherwise known as Dionysus/Dionysos, was the god of the grape harvest, winemaking and wine, so it is natural that this is where the name comes from.

Providing a fresh white wine that goes very well with food, it could easily be dubbed the Sauvignon Blanc of England.

This is our collection of the finest English Bacchus wines.
