This episode of Wine Talks features Chris Foss who is the Curriculum Manager for the Wine Division at Plumpton Wine college. Chris is half-French and has gained his experience from working in Bordeaux, France. Whilst Chris was in Bordeaux he managed the family vineyard in the Entre-Deux-Mers and also worked in many vineyards and wineries in Sauternes (Chateau d’Yquem) and St Emilion. He also became Winemaker for the GFA Leclerc vineyard group. Chris moved to Plumpton College to launch the wine programmes in 1988.
His main focuses are in vineyard establishment, vineyard management, vine protection, sustainable viticulture and he is also the manager of Plumpton’s 10-hectare vineyard. Chris is also a committee member of Wine GB South-East. His principal research interests are in learngin and understanding more about climate change, disease monitoring and vineyard sustainability, he is also a member of the Life+ Adviclim research group.

Richard Brazier is the owner of Ancient and Modern wines. He founded the specialist wine company many years ago after having an extensive career working for the finest wine companies throughout London. These have included Bedford Fine Wines, Les Amis du vin and La Reserve. In this Wine Talks episode Richard recalls various stories from his days working at the wine shops in central London where he had many famous names come into the store for his wine advice.
